Orchids stand for Beauty, a characteristic that most brides would like their wedding to represent. Not only the beauty in the visual sense, but in the spiritual sense as well, the beauty of the relationship, the traditional values of the ceremony itself and of the participants. Orchids can be an ideal choice for wedding flowers.

Orchids can also be a great choice for the table centerpiece at a wedding. One aspect of orchids that make them ideal for the table centerpiece is their height.  Orchids can grow very tall, making the centerpiece stand out. There are so many varieties that an orchid can be found to match nearly any table decor.

Orchids also hold moisture very well and are quite comfortable in hot climates, so if you are having a summer wedding they are likely to hold up well. Orchids are a very hardy plant and although they may lose flowers if they are handled roughly during shipping or installation, or are subjected to cold, they will generally stand up to all but the worst abuse.

Orchids are also available year round, so you should be able to find a variety of orchid that will be in bloom pretty much any time of the year. One concern for many when purchasing wedding flowers of course is cost. Luckily orchids can be purchased in bulk. By bypassing many of the intermediaries and purchasing your flowers direct from a wholesaler you may be able to cut costs significantly.

If you plan to do the flower arrangements yourself and intend to use orchids for bouquets, table centerpieces and perhaps additional decorative elements then buying your orchids in bulk could be a desirable option. Wedding orchids may be the right choice for your wedding.
